that him and his friends were getting money from the bank &gt;&gt; <a href=\"http:\/\/wjla.com\/news\/local\/lawyer-for-udc-student-handcuffed-on-video-looking-into-civil-rights-violations\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/wjla.com\/news\/local\/<wbr \/>lawyer-for-udc-student-<wbr \/>handcuffed-on-video-looking-<wbr \/>into-civil-rights-violations<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then we found out that business leaders are working with the\u00a0 Metropolitan Police Dept. and other officials to implement an online app used to largely<i><b> profile black people in and around Georgetown<\/b><\/i> &gt;&gt; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/mobile-app-groupme-used-to-counter-shoplifting-in-georgetown-accused-of-racial-profiling\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/<wbr \/>mobile-app-groupme-used-to-<wbr \/>counter-shoplifting-in-<wbr \/>georgetown-accused-of-racial-<wbr \/>profiling\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The on the ground profiling and racism follows a pattern with District officials in DC&#8217;s planning departments too.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p>As it regards the controversial <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/dcoz.dc.gov\/ZRR\/ZRR.shtm\" target=\"_blank\">Zoning Regulations Rewrite<\/a><\/strong>, several residents, including ANC&#8217;s have complained that <strong>residents in<\/strong> <strong>Georgetown were offered special treatment<\/strong> in working alongside the Office of Planning to customize zoning regulations to protect their community &gt;&gt; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dc4reason.org\/zrr\/anc\/pr\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.dc4reason.org\/zrr\/<wbr \/>anc\/pr\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>But, when ANC&#8217;s in Ward 5, 7, and 8 asked for similar direct assistance as offered to Georgetown, the Office of Planning told them to wait until the ZRR had passed, effectively nullifying any chance at customizing and protecting their ANC districts from the ZRR.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twilightzoning.org\/wrong\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.twilightzoning.org\/<wbr \/>wrong<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Racism in DC<\/em> is present from the profiling on the ground by cops and business leaders all the way up to the DC&#8217;s planning and zoning officials.\u00a0 And, the mounting demands for justice is real.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b>#BlackLivesMatterDMV will be hosting a march against racism and police abuse on October 20, 2015, 7:30pm, be there.\u00a0 <span style=\"font-size: small;\">FMI &gt;&gt; Events)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>Even when the DC Government intervenes to help, they pour on the hurt.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of a dilapidated apartment building,<strong> DC&#8217;s Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (<a href=\"http:\/\/dcra.dc.gov\/\">DCRA<\/a>)<\/strong> helps people move out of an unsafe situation, but then won&#8217;t provide any real temporary living options for those DC residents being moved &gt;&gt; <a href=\"http:\/\/wjla.com\/news\/local\/evicted-from-unsafe-building-dc-residents-struggle-to-find-affordable-housing\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/wjla.com\/news\/local\/<wbr \/>evicted-from-unsafe-building-<wbr \/>dc-residents-struggle-to-find-<wbr \/>affordable-housing<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>In Ward 8, the Congress Heights<\/strong><\/em> Metro properties face development, but at what costs and who benefits &gt;&gt;\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/wapo-oct-14-2015-CH\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/wapo-oct-<wbr \/>14-2015-CH<br \/>\n<\/a><br \/>\n<em><strong>And, in downtown<\/strong><\/em>, where housing affordability is at an all-time low, some of the last affordable units at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1052524411438881\/\"><strong>Museum Square<\/strong><\/a> are threatened to be displaced as part of a national trend of hatred of the poor and working families &gt;&gt;
